We all experience asking a question of our classes and hearing…crickets. We’ve also experienced this when teaching remotely and seeing a screen full of ZBRs (Zoom Black Rectangles). Whether in the physical or virtual classroom, no matter what level we teach, we want our students talking to each other; this is the first step in cultivating the classroom community that we know our students will thrive in and enjoy. This session will demonstrate classic active learning techniques and how they can be used in any classroom, for any level or any subject. We’ll cover classics like icebreakers and Jigsaw to newer takes on activities like speed dating and Human Barometer. You’ll participate and take away activities that will get your students talking to you and, more importantly, to each other. And we’ll spend time on your ideas, so bring them along!

You can register here.  This webinar is only available to BEA members.
