Once again, the Beaverton Education Association is pleased to sponsor the Mike Osborne Memorial Scholarship, which benefits graduating high school seniors who are children of active BEA members. This scholarship is in memory of our past school board chair, Mike Osborne, who passed away suddenly in 2006. Mike was a great advocate for the Beaverton School District and members of BEA. The scholarship honors the hours of dedicated service Mr. Osborne gave to Beaverton School District and many other organizations. The focus of the required essay is volunteerism.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Applicant must be the legal child, stepchild, or dependent of a BEA member. Non-members do not qualify.
- Applicant must be a graduating high school senior but does not need to be attending a Beaverton school.
- Applicant must provide proof of acceptance from an accredited, four-year college, community college, or accredited trade school.
Scholarships for the 2021 graduating class will be awarded in amounts ranging from $500 to $1,000. Announcement of scholarship recipients will be made during the recipient’s high school Senior Awards Assembly. Money awarded must be used for college related expenses including tuition, books, and fees. Due to COVID-19 protocols, the BEA Office is closed, so applications must be sent electronically this year. Applications can be found at beavertonea.org and are due to [email protected] by 4:00 pm on March 19th, 2021.
